Our story in this issue is The Mark of the Beast, written by Carrie Bates, penciled by

Alex Savick, inked by Frank Chiaramonte, lettered by Ben Oda, colored by Gene DeAngelo. Last

issue, Flash broke up a prison riot that was caused because all the prisoners were freaking

out over the nephron process. You know, the clockwork orange typetype mind-altering pain and pleasure, stimulating process

that they were using on Clive Yorkin to turn him from a murder and an arson into a quote-unquote

healthy member of society? Well, the flash broke up the riot, was looking for Clive Yorkin,

finds Yorkin in Nephron's lab plugged into the machine, very unusual, and Yorkin

looks like he's going crazy. He is going absolutely nuts. As the flash approaches York and he

says, Yorkin's not strapped into the machine. Yorkens put himself in the chair. And

Yorkin's the one pressing the on switch on the button. And it's not the pleasure center.

It's the pain center. It seems that Yorkin is quite the sadomasochist. He's gaining tremendous

pleasure from his pain. His face is contorted. He's freaking out. The flash also looks horrified.

He realizes he's got to get Yorkin out of this chair. Yorkin doesn't know what he's doing.

His mind is so messed up now that it's gaining some sort of pleasure from this pain. The flash goes to grab his arm from the controls. Yorkin screams no, lifts his arms from the machinery and he's struggling with the flash. The flash is trying to pull him out of the chair. Of a sudden, Yorken just rips his way out,

which is an unexpected fury, like the strength of a dozen men choking the flash, pinning him to the ground. It's caught the flash a little bit off guard. The adrenaline going through Yorkin must be fueling this. Well, the flash managed to get off one good sock right to the face, not with any superspeed. but it was a hard enough punch that really Yorkins should be staggered.

But he's not.

Yorkins right back up, charges at the flash tackling him, knocking him to the ground. At this point, the flash has got to do something. He's been holding back of it because Yorkin's not in his right mind. This poor man's been twisted to this point. So as Yorkin picks up the flash in his hands, off the ground, squeezing him,

just with this tremendous sadomasochist strength, that's right, the proportional strength of a

superhuman sadomasochus, the flash starts vibrating. He's vibrating so fast that the vibration
