Tom versus the Flash number 22 or learn that Sinestro Strutt.

Welcome back for the Flash number 22, the July, August, 1973 issue featuring a cover by Nick Hardy,

with the entire issue being edited by Julie Schwartz. There's only one

story in this issue. It's Green Lantern is co-starring with the Flash in this, and the Heart

That Attacked the World, written by Carrie Bates, penciled by Irv Novick, inked by both Frank

McLaughlin and Dick Gerodano. We begin by observing a strange yellow comma that seems to be heading directly towards

Central City USA.

Suspicious, but that's not where the real action begins in this story.

Because way out on the coast, in Coast City, we see a familiar oath being said,

that is right,

how Jordan, unemployed bachelor, inside his lonely apartment,

cereal and condiments is all he has to eat,

lots of frozen pizzas for Mr. Jordan.

He's saying his Green Lantern oath,

hand inside Lantern, when there's a strange burst of feedback.

Yellow energy comes blasting out of the battery, hitting hell, knocking him to the ground,

limp, battered, and dazed. As Mr. Bates would like us to know, we cut back to Central

City where we had just seen the strange yellow thing crashing from the sky.

Over in an alleyway now, a man, some figure.

It may not be a man, I'm sorry.

It could be a woman who kind of looks like a man,

wandering through a darkened alleyway thinking to himself.
