Sun versus Aquaman Adventure Comics number 243 or he's not really good at the secret identity thing.

Welcome back for Aquaman and Adventure Comics number 243, the December 1957 issue,

featuring a cover penciled by Kurtz Swan, inked by Stan Kay, with issue being edited by Mortwisinger.

And our Aquaman story today is Aquaman's Amazing Pets, featuring art by Ramona Frayden.

We begin outside a South American port where there's a bunch of men in a rowboat.

They must have been leaving a ship, traveling from a ship to shore. Well, they're on their rowboat when a water spot is popped out of nowhere. A tornado on the ocean. It's coming right for them. It's a disaster. The boat's getting knocked over. Guess who's riding by on Topo? Aquaman. He sees the entire thing happening. These sailors are in luck. He's going to be able to save them quickly. Topo and Aquaman get to work.

Aquaman's grabbing some topos, keeping some afloat, some of them are knocked out.

Aquaman brings them back ashore, puts them back on their boat, and the sailors are incredibly happy.

The waterspot had knocked them senseless. Aquaman saved them. And Aquaman tells him to calm down.

It's just what he does.

Tope-bone him, travel the seas, making sure everyone is safe, getting involved in everyone's

minuscule problems and seeing them through all the way to the end.

And once they hear this, then one of the sailors says that they have another problem

that's about the same as drowning.

It's on the same level of importance. You see, they keep losing bets to one of their

shipmates on their freighter, the Friscoe-Ton. See, there's a first mate, Mr. Kipp, who keeps

sucking them into these crazy bets, and they keep losing, and they've lost our

money, and this is a huge problem, which Aquaman obviously would want to get involved in.

Aquaman wants to know more details about what they're betting on, to which the setters explained

could be anything like a couple days ago. Mr. Kipp, who dresses like Thurston Howell,

or just sort of a smarmy sailor's outfit, which the rest of these guys are just dressed like Souther's and with the caps and sort of rough jackets, they're ready for the ocean. This guy's got a white suit, a blue blazer, a white cap. He's not the captain. He's the first mate. The guy's a little bit smart. They see him at the dock holding up a fish and holding up a turtle and he's going first mate so the guy's a little bit smart me see they see him at the dock holding up a
