This week on the podcast, I could not be more delighted to have my former pastor, Dr. Stephen

Ewell. Dr. Ewell, I'm excited that you're here to introduce our people to you as we prepare

for our annual conference. You will be one of the plenary

speakers at our annual conference. To let our folks know a little bit about you, Dr. Ewell has over

20 years of ministry experience, including serving as a missionary to Portugal and Angola. He

shepherded a local church, which is what I was a part of for the last 10 years in Glenrose, Texas.

He now lives in Cambridge, Ontario with his wife Allison and their two daughters,

where he serves as vice president of academics at Heritage College and Seminary.

Dr. Ewell also serves as an associate professor of biblical spirituality at the Southern Baptist Theological

Seminary as well. He, as we're going to talk about today, he's published extensively in a list

of journals, articles, books, especially in the area of the Puritans, which I personally love

as well. Dr. Ull is also a certified member of ACBC and I'm so excited that he's

going to be presenting for us at our annual conference this year on the topic of suicide. And so Dr.

Ewell, welcome to the podcast. We are very delighted that you are here with us today.

Now what I want to do if we can is I want to work us through a couple of the ideas that Dr.

Ewell has written about in recent days, two that focus, particularly on the Psalms.

I find the Psalms such an intriguing book, especially for what I would call the raw realities of life. Dr. Eul, you've written a book called
