The leaders of Spain, Ireland, and Norway made their announcement yesterday.

They said that a Palestinian state must exist for there to be peace in the Middle East.

More than 140 other countries around the world already recognize a

Palestinian state. The U.S. does not. Most countries that do are outside Europe. The move to

recognize is symbolic, but it could put pressure on other nations to support a two-state solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestinians.

At the announcement yesterday, Ireland's Prime Minister Simon Harris said he was confident other countries would follow.

In the lead up to today's announcement, I've spoken with a number of other leaders and counterparts,

and I'm confident that further countries will join us in taking

this important step in the coming weeks.

In reaction to the announcement, Israel recalled its ambassadors to Spain, Ireland, and Norway, and denounce their decision.

Nicky Haley said she will vote for Donald Trump in November's presidential election.

Haley was Trump's main Republican rival in the primaries, but the former UN ambassador

suspended her presidential campaign in March, clearing the way for Trump to become the presumptive

Republican nominee. After she dropped out, Haley refused to endorse the former president.

But yesterday, Haley made her first public appearance since suspending her campaign.

She was asked who's foreign policy she preferred, Trump's or President Biden's.
