Hello, my friends. Welcome back, First Kings chapter 21 today in your Bible.

I think this story might be familiar to some of you, but it has some really, really important lessons.

So let's dive right in.

Chapter 21, verse 1, it came to pass after these things that Naboth, the Jesreliite,

had a vineyard, which was in Jesrael hard by the palace of Ahab, king of Samaria. So we've been

talking about this guy, Ahab, and what a bad guy he's been, and just seems to be rejecting

all of the ways by which God is trying to get his attention. Remember the drought and then the

battle, not just one battle, but two. And God allows him to win in spite of incredibly bad odds. So if anybody has

seen the demonstrable hand of God in his life, it has been Ahab. And yet up until this point,

he just seems to continue to reject God's mercies and God's goodness in his life.

The Bible says the goodness of God ought to lead us to repentance.

But the Bible also says that being often reproved will harden his heart.

And then that destruction comes suddenly.

We're going to find that today, Ahab's hard heart just goes one step too far.
