Ahab was about the wickedest man you'd ever know.

The Bible says he and his wife sold themselves out to do wickedly.

And yet, at the very end of the chapter we'll talk about today, he humbled himself and God shows mercy.

Now, let's join Kurt for today's episode. Hey, my friends, we're back in First Kings chapter 21 today,

and we are with poor Naboth. Nebath is now the subject of a plot that is being instituted by Jezebel.

He doesn't know that his conviction in the Word of God is ultimately going to bring him death

because Jezebel has plotted this scheme whereby they will have a trial and lie about Naboth and declare that he

is a blasphemer. How ironic because Jezebel is the ultimate blasphemer. She has instituted bail worship

in Israel. And now that bail has been deposed by Elijah on Mount Carmel,

she is acting as if she cares about the God of Israel

and that blaspheming him is a big deal to her.

And yet none of it's true.

She's just using God, using the work of God,

using people's belief in God, all for her own advantage to get that vineyard. Look at verse

of 11. The men of the city, even the elders and the nobles who were in the, who were the inhabitants

in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them. So these men are no better than Jezebel. They're

just going along with this wicked plot, scheming against poor Naboth, and it was written in the
