Have you ever seen a government backtrack on something so fast?

Late last night, Alabama state lawmakers passed a bill

granting civil and criminal immunity for IVF service providers and the people receiving the care.

This will allow patients and clinics to immediately restart IVF treatments in Alabama

without the fear of legal repercussions.

Last month, Alabama Supreme Court ruled that all children are children, and that included

frozen embryos, meaning any patient that decided to have a clinic dispose of their fertilized

egg could have faced involuntary manslaughter charges.

This new bill is just a measure to allow fertility treatments to resume while lawmakers

address the remaining questions surrounding the original court ruling.

But today, in Alabama, there are IVF patients scheduled to receive embryo transfers.
