Good morning and welcome to the Morning Show podcast. My name is Anthony. I'm Carla Marie and today is Wednesday, March 6th, 2024. The Core 4. The four headlines you need to know.

Well, if you needed any more proof that we're getting the sequel to the 2020 election,

we got it yesterday. Both Biden and Trump saw their primary leads balloon yesterday.

Trump now leads all Republican nominees after picking up a total of 551 delegates.

Nikki Haley, who is in second place, only has 52. Meanwhile, not to be outdone by Trump,

Biden has picked up a total of 565 delegates so far. And he doesn't really have anyone in second

place because there are only six other delegates that have been given out to all of his

competition combined. Now, technically speaking, neither of them have locked up

their nomination, but from a practical standpoint, it's basically over. But there is one fun fact

here. Each candidate did suffer one loss yesterday. Trump lost Vermont to Nikki Haley, which

doesn't really matter because Trump hasn't won't won't Vermont the last two times he's ran,

and most likely won't win it this time either.

And Biden lost the caucus in America, Samoa to a guy named Jason Palmer.

But this loss also doesn't really change anything because since America Samoa is a territory, they don't vote in the general election.

The Jepleu and Spirit merger will not be taking off. The airlines officially called off their $3.8 billion agreement to merge.

A few weeks ago, I told you a federal court ruling blocked the deal,

but that Jepleu and Spirit would appeal the decision, and they did. But the two
