back to today's episode of Everyday Truth. We are in First Kings, Chapter 3, talking about the good, the bad, and the ugly. We've talked about

David, he was a good guy. We've talked about Solomon. He was a good guy. And he actually

ended up doing some ugly things, and we'll talk about that as the episodes emerge and unfold.

We've talked about Adinijah. He was bad and ugly. So I think we're getting the theme here. And that is that human leadership, even the best of it, is flawed.

And the worst of it is pretty ugly to behold because human ambition and pride and compromise are never pretty things to see.

Now, in 1st Kings chapter 3, we have a great little section about what it means to be humble,

what it means to rely upon the Lord, what it means to simplify. Because so often in our lives,

the way to walk with the Lord more effectively is to simplify. You know, compromise and sinful

choices and sometimes the busyness that we replace godliness with, just complicate and confuse our lives.

And sometimes the best way to get back to where we need to be is simply to humble ourselves

and to simplify our lives back to those essentials.
