First up, smoke and extreme heat are smothering most of the country.

Air quality alerts related to smoke from Canada's historic

wildfires covered 20 states yesterday. Detroit, Chicago, and Minneapolis had some of the worst

air quality in the world. On top of that,

dangerous temperatures are hitting Texas and other southern states and in the west,

California is bracing for its first major heat wave of the year. Climate change helps shape

extreme weather events like these and they're likely to get worse in the years to come. Number two, possible human remains were recovered from the wreckage of the Titanic Sub.

The submersible imploded on a trip to the Titanic shipwreck last week, killing five people,

and parts of the wreckage were pulled from the North Atlantic yesterday.
