Donald Trump is making a visit to Capitol Hill. Extreme heat is coming for the

eastern US and spicy ramen noodles are too hot to handle in Denmark.

Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Number one, the U.S. and Ukraine plan to sign a 10-year security deal.

The G7 summit of world leaders began this morning in Italy.

And today, President Biden and Ukrainian President Volodimir Zolenski are expected to sign an agreement between their countries.

The deal commits the U.S. to supply Kiev with a wide range of military assistance in its

war with Russia.

But unlike NATO, it doesn't require the US to supply troops to defend Ukraine

if it's attacked. National security advisor Jake Sullivan spoke to reporters about the

planned deal yesterday on Air Force One as the president flew to the summit.

Any lasting peace in Ukraine has to be underwritten by Ukraine's own ability to defend itself

and deter future aggression. And by signing this

will also be sending Russia a signal of our resolve. If Vladimir Putin thinks that

he can outlast the coalition supporting Ukraine, he's wrong. He just cannot wait us out and

this agreement will show our resolve and continued commitment.

But this deal could be scrapped if Donald Trump returns to the White House next year.

Trump has at times expressed skepticism of Ukraine's continued fight. Number two, Donald Trump will visit Capitol Hill today for the first time since his presidency.

Trump is expected to hold separate meetings with House and Senate Republicans.
