Number one, the U.S. and Ukraine plan to sign a 10-year security deal.

The G7 summit of world leaders began this morning in Italy.

And today, President Biden and Ukrainian President Volodimir Zolenski are expected to sign an agreement between their countries.

The deal commits the U.S. to supply Kiev with a wide range of military assistance in its

war with Russia.

But unlike NATO, it doesn't require the US to supply troops to defend Ukraine

if it's attacked. National security advisor Jake Sullivan spoke to reporters about the

Any lasting peace in Ukraine has to be underwritten by Ukraine's own ability to defend itself
