Greetings and welcome to a Thursday edition of the shotgun start. It is June 15th. Andy, how are we doing?

Brendan, I'm doing phenomenal. I had a great day out at LACC. I am bummed that you're not here. You had to depart at the drattie house, so unfortunately I hope everything's okay.

And I'm glad that you were back home, but it was an awesome day out at LACC and excited to talk about it.

Yeah, so I had to head home from the drattie Hollywood house for the little family health thing, but everything should be all right.

But I enjoyed. I watched most of the entire day after getting off the red eye. I was kind of, you know, in and out, not, not, you know, start to wire to, you know, wire to wire, but it's a long ass day, 940 Eastern time for me by the time I got home to still happening as we record this 1025.

So the, you know, the shelf life of this episode is I don't know on the east coast, like a couple hours. I guess it's the same as it is on the west coast, but at least you might listen to it tonight on the west coast, but you might listen to it in the morning before play kicks off.

That's fine. Before 940. So would you? Just like our old days in the open and the radio booth. We're doing drive time radio here.

Our old days. That was play by play in the open, you know, Tyler Duncan to fight us radio goes us radio guys know how to how to survive the times. So we're going to make this short and sweet.

You had a great day out there. I had a great day watching. I have no real complaints. I'm not upset about anything. Seems like there's some grumbling going on.

Like there's a lot of upset people. Are there on Twitter? That's just the general nature of Twitter upset people about whatever the cause of the day is.

It's like maybe I've been, you know, if it's just dead calm and cloudy. You know, the way this golf course gets hard is when it's sunny. What happens is when the sun comes out, the breeze comes up and it dries out.

You know, the reason they lost control at Shinnecock a little bit was that the sun was out. It was breezy. Okay. There's a balance here. And this was always going to be a golf course that was getable. We talked about this.

I talked about this for hours in the lead up of this. It is a getable golf course. There are eight super getable holes. One, three, six, eight.

Eight, 10, 12, 14, 15 are all very getable holes. Like if you hit a good drive, those holes turn into birdie holes. And, you know, I think the thing that people need to realize, why are we?

Well, why do we have to say that's bad? It's not bad. What I don't get is this fascination of every US open has to be the exact same identity.

Well, yeah, I don't. When you go to different golf courses, there were two 62s. There were two 64s and there were two 65s.

I guess maybe I'm biased having walked the course, having seen the course, obviously having seven deference to certain authorities who know golf courses and architecture like Shackleford, yourself, others who, you know, this is a bona fide jam.

And, like, I don't know what you want them to do. There are 156 players. That's another big. That's another big juice it up that maybe juice it up for Saturday.
