Summary

The final hours of Jesus' earthly life begin in the Garden of Gethsemane in Mark 14:26-72. As the scene unfolds, we see Jesus' humanity and resolve as He prays, Judas' betrayal, the religious leaders' crookedness, and the faltering of the disciples in the face of these things.

Well, Mark chapter 14 as we continue, Jesus now has begun the footsteps toward the cross.

And we find ourselves, you know, heading into the Garden of Gisemone.

And we've kind of already been through some of this.

We didn't get very far on last Wednesday.

The goal is to finish chapter 14 tonight.

It's a long chapter.

But we saw kind of a nice little division here in Mark 14 as far as the way the chapter

sort of breaks up.

And I'll show you just kind of a brief outline.

The first section we studied

last week versus 1 through 11 is Jesus in Bethany adored. That's how we'll kind of title these.

Jesus and Bethany adored. And we saw, you know, Mary of Bethany worshipping at his feet with the costly

ointment.

That's verses 1 through 11.

The second section we looked at last week was Jesus in the upper room betrayed.

And verses 12 through 25, Jesus started to identify his betrayer as being Judas as he dipped

in the sop at the same time as Jesus.

And we already, he already had been betrayed by that time.

So we saw that in that second section, Jesus in the upper room, betrayed.

And then tonight, section three, we begin.

It's, it's verse 26 through 52.

So here we go. we start in verse 26 and when they had sung in him they went out into the mount of olives and and verse 26 here is just kind of that reminder that they sang one hymn.
