Wednesday night, we continue through the Bible.

Would you turn with me to Luke 23?

That'll be where we'll be studying Wednesday night.

But we draw our text on these Sunday mornings

from our upcoming Wednesday study through the Bible.

We don't skip a verse, chapter, or book.

We go right through.

So Luke chapter 23, we have the story of the cross.

This is the holy of holies of the Bible maybe,

if you think about it, where Jesus, God becomes a man,

dies on the cross.

And I just wanna read through Luke's account of the cross.

Man, you can't do better than that, reading what Jesus did for us.

So let's take a look here, Luke chapter 23, and we'll begin here in verse 26. Luke 23, 26.

It says in verse 26, and as they let him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian,

coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.

And there followed him a great company of people on women, which also bewailed and lamented him.

And Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem,

Weep not for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children,

for behold, the days are coming in which they shall say,

Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bear,

and the paps which never gave suck,
