Some might say, lala gagging through Luke.

But it's such a great gospel.

There's so much here.

And it's important for us to take all this in.

We're really only scratching the surface, though.

That's one of the things we always have to remember.

When you're going through the Bible, you can just spend a lifetime in just one of these books of the Bible. But it's good to be

able to cover some ground. We're getting some work done here this evening. And once again,

Jesus is going to be hitting the controversial topics. He's not afraid to say things that are

offensive. He's not afraid to make people mad at him, which is shocking.

And we've been kind of talking about that.

There's an interesting story of an old preacher from a long time ago

during the reign of King Henry the 8th.

His name was Hugh Latimer from 1487 to 1555.

You know, 500 years ago almost.

Like, what an amazing thing that this preacher, he goes down as sort of being purposefully almost abrasive, but he was also known to be a truth teller, whether people wanted him

to say stuff or not. One time he got

into some trouble, King Henry was displeased because King Henry the 8th was sitting right there in the service

there in the cathedral there of Worcester. But King Henry was so displeased by his boldness in his sermon uh it was convicting to king

henry so king henry ordered as the king of england uh latimer to preach the same sermon next sunday

but to tone it down and to apologize for some of his previous statements that he made in his

sermon uh so here's how his sermon went the following Sunday. He started
