Aren't you guys excited? We're entering into a new political season.

Oh, don't we just love it? This next year, I'm sure it's going to be wonderful.

Nothing bad, nothing disturbing, nothing to see with this coming election and all that.

You know, times haven't changed all that much. And Jesus is going to face some,

interestingly enough, this evening, some political questions about justice. And he's going to also

face a list of other questions and things like that. There, you know, a lot of times they're trying

to trap him to make him say something.

I think we do that today in politics.

We try to find something that somebody says that we can trick them and trap them and twist their

words and make a little media post about something someone said.

And it comes from all directions.

I've noticed, you know, just a manipulation and a rhetoric.

It's hard to believe anything you hear

and see anymore. But times really haven't changed all of them. Technology has made it a little more

deceiving, perhaps, than it was back in the first century. But people would twist words and do

stuff like that. And that's kind of what we're going to see Jesus facing.

But Jesus handled these things so perfectly. And so as we finished last Wednesday night,

chapter 12, we pick it up in chapter 13. And this first section, verses 1 through 9,

is actually this section that I'm going to sort of call the place where they give this political question about justice.

It's a political question about justice.
