I'd like to kind of have a two scripture beginning here. So Acts chapter 10, keep your finger there,

and then also Ephesians chapter 2. I'd like to kind of remind us of a major part of what Paul's

going to say. So it'll be supporting that which Peter is coming to an understanding of in our text here in Acts 10.

So we'll start with Ephesians 2, and then we'll go over to Acts 10.

Have you ever felt left out? When I was a kid, it was common in PE. The teacher would choose the two most athletic

kids in the class, and then they would get up in front of everybody, and then one by one, they'd do the

playground selection. And it was always the most athletic and the most popular that would be

picked, and then slowly we'd get down to the nerdiest, most out of shape athletic and the most popular that would be picked. And then slowly we get down to the,

you know, the nerdiest, most out of shape. And they'd just be standing there. Everybody's like,

okay. You know, it was like, it was kind of brutal, you know, on all the, you know, the kids. And

fortunately, they don't do that as much anymore, I don't think, because that can be sort of painful. But in a way,

being left out or feeling like you're not with the end crowd, that is something that happens all

through life, not just on the playground when you're a kid. You know, that's part of life.

And it's part of the deal. But one of the things that we're seeing here is a major shift in God's plan,

because really in the Old Testament, the Jews were God's chosen people.

God chose them.

And it seems that the Gentiles would be sort of left out,

at least from the Jewish worldview,

Gentiles, as we saw last Sunday,

the only reason they existed, according to the

Mishnah, was to be fuel to fire hell. That's why Gentiles existed. So it wasn't that great,

you know, for the Gentiles. Well, now, we see when Jesus died on the cross, he didn't just
