So tonight we return to the Winter of War Gaming to tackle Panther Games, Command Ops 2,

which was formerly known as the Airborne Assault Series.

And we'll get into the slightly complicated history of the series and what that means for

playing the games today.

But first, we should probably discuss what exactly these games are.

Michael, I think you were the person who sort of put this bug in our ear last fall, I think, during one of our Patreon backer Q&As.

And it caught me off guard a little bit because, again, you know how I stereotype you as our, as our, you know, deep arcane, you know, life sim guy.

And I don't typically think of like really, you know,

nichey war games as being of particular interest to you.

But between this and Semino, it certainly starts to seem like you found your lane of weird-ass war games.

So what is CommandOps 2, and why did it speak to you?

Right.

So CommandOps 2 is an operational-level war game set in World War II.

It's an interesting take on an operational level game in

that instead of being turn-based and sort of hex-based, like let's say the operational art of war

or other similar games, it's a plausible real-time game where you are issuing orders in a very

realistic sense.
