Summary

Rob, special guest Paul Dean, and Troy "Blue Balls Appear Irregularly" Goodfellow talk about Armello, an Early Access game available on Steam. Armello combines charming graphics and design with a game concept that is unapologetically a board game. The PC translation of this is full of potential that has time to be realized by the time the game is ready for release. We learn that Paul is lukewarm on the game, Troy is a fan, and Rob doesn't like Talisman.

It's this fantasy game about a corrupt king who is slowly sort of it, it's very board gamey. It's this fantasy game about a corrupt king who is

basically a, what's the best way of describing it?

1:13.6

There's multiple ways to succeed.

1:15.5

You can either find a way to heal the king

1:18.3

or you can find a way to sort of succeed the king

1:21.9

and step into his place by deposing him.

1:24.5

But there are various ways of doing that.

1:26.5

It's like a board game, I suppose.

1:28.9

It has hex tiles.

1:30.4

It has cards that you play, but it all sort of runs on your computer,

partly because League of Geeks told me ages and ages ago in an interview

1:39.4

that it does actually function as a real-world board game,
