Three minutes after ten is the time, and the big problem with the so-called culture wars

is that when people ostensibly on the other or the wrong side of history endure humiliating embarrassments, there's

not really much pleasure to be taken in from people on the other side, being proved right,

as we've observed many times on this program over the last three in a bit, it's rarely felt so hollow

because of course it's the country that is at stake not personal reputations not

careers it's it's the entire country that we care about something that Joe Johnson who

behaved with astonishing principle yesterday something that Joe Johnson appears to understand but

his brother still fails to do so. It's Friday.

It's the end of Boris Johnson's first full week in Parliament as Prime Minister. I tempted to ask you

whether you think it could have gone any worse, but that just seems cruel. And of course, rhetorical.

It's impossible to imagine how it could have gone worse.

Giving a completely incoherent speech in front of a phalanx of police cadets who were kept waiting in the hot sun to such a degree, that one of them felt faint.

There's some footage doing the rounds on the internet if you're paid up in these culture wars.

And because you don't like Boris Johnson, you must be somehow a slavish devotee of Barack Obama but there's some footage

doing the rounds of Barack Obama finding himself in a very similar situation with someone

standing behind him being taken ill and feeling faint and um well apparently it's perfectly

straightforward to make sure they're okay

to look after them to demonstrate a degree of concern and compassion make sure that

they're being cared for or you can do what Boris Johnson did which is sort of glance

briefly over your shoulder and then return to your rambling and incoherent speech
