what question do we ask on a morning like this? It's astonishing, really, to reflect, that Boris Johnson

appears to have successfully positioned himself this morning with much of the electorate,

successfully with much of the electorate, by no means with all of it, thank goodness,

as being simultaneously both wanting and not wanting a general election.

I read something yesterday, which I did a double take because I mean,

you try, I try like you did to keep up with events, but everything is so unprecedented and

or chaotic at the moment that I think we could all be forgiven for missing the odd trick or

indeed for thinking that someone else might have missed the odd trick, but that there's at least realistic, I mean, slim to non-existent,

but realistic chance that Jeremy Corby could be.
