All right, today I'm going to talk about something that I really don't have a whole lot of authority to speak on.

Hi, I'm Dave. I've been walking for fitness since 20, 13, averaging about 21,000 steps a day.

I think it's safe to say that quite a few people, maybe even most, pursue fitness, exercise for weight control.

Maybe it's to lose weight.

Maybe it's to maintain a weight loss, or maybe it's to prevent a weight gain.

But the number on that scale is one of the motivating factors to getting

out here and walking every single day. I'm not a doctor. I'm not a nutritionist. I am not a licensed

personal coach. And candidly, I'm not even someone who has ever set a weight loss goal.

So I have no authority when it comes to talking about weight loss.

Except I know someone who does.

I've mentioned him before, my friend Steve Miller, not the musician.

Steve is the pastor at Heritage Baptist Church in Virginia. I think it's Ashburn, Virginia. So I got to know Steve in July 2018.

In January, January 1st, 2018, Steve began a weight loss journey. He weighed 440 pounds.

And he had tried losing weight before, had tried doing diets before, but something finally

clicked in the fall of 2017.

His wife had found an eating plan, Trim Healthy Mama, which Steve thinks is a hoot that

some dude is doing this eating plan with his name.

And on January 1st, he committed to sticking with that eating plan, no cheat days,

in fact, not even a cheat bite, and doing 30 minutes of yoga.

And he would weigh himself every Monday.
