Welcome to the live stream. I'm rushing to get things going today. It was a little bit of a delay.

I'm sorry for being like 12 minutes late, but what I'm going to do today is play video clips of people, in my opinion here mocking the cross of Christ and misrepresenting what the Bible actually teaches about how Jesus saves us and I'm going to respond to those video clips.

That's kind of what we're doing. That's the agenda today. My purpose in this is to disarm the rhetoric because what

they're saying isn't factually true but the rhetoric is powerful as in it's

psychologically manipulative it really sort of shames people It really

shames people into changing their minds about things when they're really being

tricked. So I want to share those things with you today. Welcome to the

Tuesday live stream. I'm Pastor Mike Winger. I do this every Tuesday at 5 p.m. Pacific Standard

time. We're in the middle of a series on penal substitutionary

atonement and in this series we're dealing with, in fact we've already dealt

with the history behind

Penal Substitutionary Atonement or basically for those who don't know what that

term means. I'm talking about how Jesus saves us, that Jesus died in my place

as my representative on the cross. He suffered the penalty or the punishment

for my sins so that I could be forgiven and God's wrath was dealt with and my

relationship with God was restored and that that's part of the cross like the cross is more than that but

the cross includes that that's the idea here so we dealt with the biblical side we

dealt with the historical side old testament new testament today we're going to do with the rhetoric coming from

those who are against penal substitution which I think is very powerful rhetoric and

then we're going to deal next time with moral challenges and philosophical
