Hey, folks, welcome back to the Relationship Coaching School podcast.

I just have a short public service announcement today.

Yesterday, I felt really sad and heavy.

The day before Charlie Kirk was shot and killed,

and there was a high school shooting here in Evergreen, Colorado nearby.

And another local high school had a scare that a lot of my friends' kids go to.

And so I got up in the morning, I meditated for a while.

And then I stupidly went on to social media.

I went on to Facebook first.

And I just immediately, I was scrolling through my feet and I just felt sick to my stomach.

And just more and more sadness hit me, just like a brick in the heart.

The amount of rage that was being thrown all over the place

where there was so much vitriol disgust and hatred just flying around.

Hatred for the right, hatred for the left, hatred for men and guns, and just hatred.

Blaming.

Just the blame and the defensiveness was just insane.

It's also fucked up to me.

And I just felt sad, like, right, this is where we're at.

And of course, I'm able to hold this larger view because thanks to Buddhism and my teachers

and mentors over the years, I hold this view that life is sacred and everything is trustworthy.

And it's hard to hold in moments like these, but I hold it. I just, I'm unflinching about it.

So I understand that there is suffering in the world and that suffering is inevitable
