James Hamerty was born on October 4, 1936, in Farnborough, Kent, and by the year 1937, was living with his family in Wembley.

According to the sources, James's childhood was quite a troubled one.

Described as mentally handicapped, a psychopath,

and a pathological liar, by the age of just 11, he was deemed ineducable at St. James

Catholic High School, and his parents, refusing to acknowledge their son's issues, refused to place

him in a more appropriate school.

By 15 years old, James dropped out completely and joined the public cleaning department as a refuse

sorter. Things only got worse, however, when he fell from his bicycle the following year

and remained unconscious for ten long hours.

After nine days in the hospital, James was released, and shortly thereafter, he left his family

home and moved to Brighton, where he picked up work as a road haulier, until being found lying

in the street, barely conscious eight weeks later.
