Summary
Working the overnight shift at a gas station off a lonely stretch of highway could be boring, but it was usually predictable.
Then one night, a woman appeared beneath the canopy lights.
She seemed confused from the moment she walked up to the window. She didn't know where she was. She couldn't remember how she got there. And the more questions she asked, the more it felt like she was searching for answers no one could give her.
When he offered to call for help, she looked relieved. Moments later, she vanished.
The next morning, a news report about a fatal accident a few miles down the highway made him realize something chilling: The woman at the gas station may have been searching for answers about her own death.
