The wolf and the fox lived together in the forest.

And whatever the wolf wished, the fox was made to do, for he was smaller and weaker.

The fox would gladly be rid of his master, but he had not yet had the chance.

It happened one day, however, that they were walking through a field, and the wolf said to the fox,

Go fish me something to eat. I'm hungry, and if you do not find anything, I'll eat you, fox.' The fox replied,

"'There's no need for that, master, for there is a farm yard, just yonder,

"'where there are two little lambs.

"'I shall go and fetch one of them for you.'

"'The wolf was happy, and so the fox went to the farm and took one of the little lans.

He brought it to the wolf who devoured it quite quickly.

The fox went to have a drink from the river, leaving his master to his dinner.

But not long after, the wolf found he was still hungry.

And so off he went to the farm to fetch the second little lamb.

The wolf was so loud when he ran under the fence that the mother of the little lamb heard him
