0:54.6	remember Stephen's background but he was the he was the top guy at the Martin
0:59.1	agency in Richmond and he's the guy who came up with the guy co-lizard which
1:03.1	we still see on TV today and with Virginia is for lovers a beautiful little
1:08.1	statement that a lot of other states have copied but in my understanding Stephen
1:11.8	you were the first with that is that correct yeah you know that was quite a
1:15.1	while ago was in 1968 we had the Virginia tourism account and we said you know
1:23.9	we were trying to come up with a theme we said you know Virginia is for mountain
1:27.9	lovers Virginia is for history lovers Virginia is for beach lovers Virginia is
1:33.5	for theme park lovers and finally we just decided to drop the average
1:37.6	adjective and say Virginia is for lovers and the rest is history please tell
1:43.8	us a little bit about this story and what inspired you to write it and who
1:48.4	inspired you to write it well it was my mother who inspired me to write it but
1:55.3	it took me a long time to get around to doing it I grew up hearing all about my
2:01.4	ancestors Susanna North Martin who was tried accused tried and convicted of
2:09.8	witchcraft back in 1692 Salem Massachusetts and she was hanged you know
2:16.0	pictures are hung people are hanged and I guess my mother was kind of an
2:22.5	early feminist in that she was a successful advertising woman and that was
