Well, something that I've learned actually recently is that you have to sleep.

I know that doesn't sound running related, but for a long time now, I've really been

trying to put in really high mileage weeks and train the way that I want to.

And normally it was never able to be a consistent thing over time.

And I recently made some life changes that allowed me to actually get at least a

full eight hours of sleep, sometimes even more.

And my training's been better than it ever has been.

I'm not getting injured.

And I'm able to sustain that type of mileage and my body's not freaking out.

My health has gotten better as well.

And I know it sounds really stupid.

It's something that you've been told your whole life.

But I think we as ultra runners tend to be the type of people that we're always looking

for more.

We're always trying to see how much more we can fit in in our lives.

Most of the people that I know that are in this sport are very successful in their careers.

They have families.

They really are trying to get the most out of life all the time.

But getting the most out of anything also requires rest.
