I had no idea how that would parallel with the text tonight, but I love that because the scripture

that he read to us from the gospel according to Matthew was about Jesus sleeping in the bow of that

ship and the hinder part of the boat. And when Jesus slept in the bow of that ship in the

higher part of the boat and when Jesus slept in the boat he slept in the

boat because he slept in confidence when Jonah slept in the boat he slept in

complacency those were two different naps let me tell you all right when you

come to Jonah chapter one and you find Jonah asleep in the

boat, I really believe this. I think the man is so miserable. Did you know the most miserable

person on earth is not a lost person? It's a saved person running from God. I'll tell you why that

is, because a backslider knows what he's missing out on. A lost man has no idea what he's missing out on.

I think Jonah was so everlasting miserable and under conviction that when he got on that boat,

he thought, I got to make the noise stop in my mind, and he went to sleep.

And that was the moment where the Lord began to do his deep work in Jonah's
