I want you to open your Bible with me, please, to the gospel according to John,

John chapter number 17.

And I bring you to what I think is one of the most sacred of all of the recorded words of Jesus.

It is so because he is not speaking to us.

He is speaking to his father.

Now, he's going to speak to us through the words of his prayer

because the Holy Spirit inspired John to write it down.
