I bring you in this few moments that we have to the opening verses of Haggai chapter number two.

And I remind you that Haggai is preaching a series of sermons.

I like that.

I like messages that all linked together, and

these all linked together over four months, he preaches to the remnant that's returned out of the

captivity, and his message really is aimed on one thing. They went back and built their house,

but they didn't build God's house. And so the Lord says to them, through his preacher,

don't you think it's time, don't you think it's about time that you get your priorities in order and get God in his rightful place and worrying more about what's important to God than what is important to you? That's the great message of Haggai.

And when you come to the opening nine verses of Haggat chapter 2, you've come to the third message in this series it was given in what would correspond to our month of november so about this same time of year interesting isn't it let's read just a few verses and before i read let me give you a little hint just a hint look for him i don't want you to look for hagiye in these verses i don't want you to look for zirububal i don't want you to look for Haggai in these verses. I don't want

you to look for Zerubable. I don't want you to look for Joshua the high priest. You'll see them all,

but I want you to look for Jesus. In fact, I want to say to you tonight, don't miss Jesus.

Look at verse number one. In the seventh month, in the one and twentieth day of the month,

came the word of the Lord by the prophet Haggai saying,

speak now to Zerubable, the son of Chortil, governor of Judah,

and to Joshua, the son of Josadec, the high priest,

and to the residue of the people saying, who is left among you that

saw this house in her first glory? Now, how do you see it now? Is it not in your eyes in comparison

of it as nothing? Stop and lift your head and look at me just a moment. Remember, they've come back

out of the Babylonian captivity, and when they get back home, the place where the temple stood is

just, it's raised to the ground. There's nothing but rubble and ruins. So what do they do? They start

building. Good for you. And they lay the foundation, and 16 years later, would you like to know what they've got built the
