This weekend, there were more mass shootings and killings in the United States. As in plural mass shootings,

in fact, there have been more mass shootings in 2022

than there have so far been days in 2022.

This deadly violence especially when it targets young people or

people of color and other marginalized groups has become normalized as if it is

simply another part of life in the United States today.

The myriad solutions have ranged from arming teachers to making all public facilities

resemble fortresses or prisons even more than they already do,

to banning assault weapons and doing background checks on those who are attempting to purchase guns.

But none of these solutions, which emanate from the two major political parties is enough

to stop the threat of deadly violence.
