Kyron Ryan Horman was born on September 9, 2002 in Portland, Oregon, so a couple who,

while his mother was eight months pregnant with him, divorced citing irreconcilable differences.

Granting shared custody of the young boy until 2004, when his mother was diagnosed with kidney

failure that required extensive medical intervention, his father took over full custody of

Chiron, though his mother remained as active in his upbringing as she could despite her illness.

In 2007, Kane Horman, his father, married a substitute teacher named Terry Moulton,

a woman with whom he had been seeing whilst in the midst of his divorce.

And in December of 2008, she gave birth to a daughter named Kiara.

Kyran had, in the course of less than a year, gotten a new stepmother and a new sister.

And though I cannot find any information about how he handled the transition, it seemed like the family was doing quite well until the year 2010.
