This is the Jaco Unraveling Podcast Episode 12 with Darrell Cooper and me, Jaco Willink.

All kinds of things going on in the world right now and you and I were talking about what was

0:11.3

happening in the Middle East and started talking about doing more of a strategic kind of long-term

0:20.7

overview of the Middle East instead of diving right into the tactics, which is what I definitely

0:27.2

tend to do. You know, taking a little bit of a broader look at it from a policy perspective and

0:33.9

also from the perspective of heading into this election. Right now it's August, late August of 2020,

0:41.9

we're getting election coming up. There certainly is some pretty, pretty big differences between,

0:48.8

let's say, the Obama doctrine and the Trump doctrine and thought it'd be interesting to talk

0:55.7

about how those doctrines and policies impact and play out in the Middle East and kind of what

1:44.5

doctrine, but this is a law, this involves a lot of people, right? And not just within the government,

1:49.7

there are think tanks, there are lobbyists, there's a, you know, people who are sort of hostile to

1:55.2

this system call it the blob, right? Maybe Tulsi has a little bit dirtier word for it, I don't know,

2:01.4

but like, you know, and it leads to one of the complaints that many people have, although again,

2:07.2

when we try to deal with other countries in certain ways, this is a strength, is that, regardless

2:12.7

of who gets elected, things never seem to change that much. Now, if you're one of our allies or

2:17.2

somebody out there with some kind of, that's a good thing, we need to be able to tell people there's
