in Isaiah chapter 55 and verse 8 through 11 in the new King James Version for I know the thoughts

my thoughts are not your thoughts nor are your ways my ways says the Lord for as the

heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than yours your ways ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

For as the rain comes down and the snow from heaven and do not return there, but water the

earth and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the soar and bread to the

eater, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth. It shall not return

to me void, that is empty or without fruit, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall

prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Hallelujah, hallelujah.

God's word is a sure word.

And we're talking today from the subject,

the unmistakable difference.

The unmistakable difference.

You may be seated.

I want you to see here that this is the image of rain, watering the earth and coming down. It would have been a very poignant image for God's

people during this time because they didn't take rain for granted.

They didn't have sophisticated systems of water irrigations for their farms.

They had to trust that when they planted seed, that God would send the rain.

It's interesting that it rarely rains in a desert place because God generally does not sin rain in a place where there is no seed in the ground. He sins the rain so that it will then

force the seed to germinate, to open, and to grow. And one of the beautiful things is that because water during this time was not readily available,

whenever it did rain, they would collect it in cisterns or reservoirs so that they would have water

for some other time, so they would depend deeply on rainwater.

So they went for a season without rain.
