Summary

From Nicolás Maduro’s Manhattan court appearance to the Trump regime’s escalating crackdowns at home, the pattern is impossible to ignore. As Marco Rubio spins Venezuela policy and nearly 2,000 federal agents flood Minnesota, Mary Trump breaks down how intimidation, propaganda, and abuse of power have become the regime’s default response—to dissent abroad and communities at home—before closing with a much-needed emotional reset.

Welcome to the Mary Trump podcast. Let's dive in.

I have been thinking a lot about incompetence. Why? Well, perhaps because on a daily basis,

0:18.1

there's more and more evidence that we are being led is probably the wrong

0:26.0

word, but for lack of a better one, by the most incompetent regime in American history.

0:34.1

Last week, I flew to London and purposely made a flight early in the morning because I don't like taking red eyes.

0:44.1

So we're up at 4.30 in the morning to get to the airport for an 8 o'clock fight.

0:49.0

Five minutes after getting to the airport at around 6 in the morning, we were informed that our flight was delayed by 12 hours.

So much for avoiding the red eye. And there's nothing quite like taking a red eye when you've been up

1:06.1

since 4.30 in the morning. But, you know, that's, that happens. Here's the thing, though. That kind of thing

1:13.5

has happened almost every single time I have flown since around April. So it took

1:19.9

approximately four months to, for the incompetence of the people Donald put in charge of

1:26.8

things like the FAA and transportation

1:29.2

department, et cetera, finally to kick in, almost every single flight I have taken, and I've

1:35.8

taken many, has been delayed sometimes for hours, eight hours, 10 hours, 12 hours. I've had flights canceled. I have flights

1:49.3

delayed because of weather that wasn't actually happening, mechanical failures, staffing issues.

1:59.3

And in some cases, even though they would never admit this, because there

2:03.2

just weren't enough air traffic controllers.

2:06.7

I hear frequently about near misses of planes, clipping wings, of helicopters crashing into each

2:14.2

other.

2:16.7

Now, a flight delay, again, is not a big deal. And I was fine. I was just

2:24.4

a little more tired than I wanted to be. And I got where I wanted to be 12 hours later than I

2:29.0

wanted to get there. So what, right? Well, it isn't always an insignificant issue.
