Captain Cam to the rescue?

Sort of.

The Pittsburgh Steelers received some great news Wednesday

as Star defensive linemen Cameron Hayward

was activated from the reserve injured list

after missing the previous six games

while recovering from a groin injury that required

surgery after the season opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Hayward's return comes at a great time and he's a de facto trade deadline ad for the Steelers,

who didn't do anything on Halloween to add to the roster, and rightfully so.

Getting a multi-time pro-buller and all-pro back with fresh legs and limited mileage this season

is a great ad for the Steelers and they didn't have to give up anything to get them.

All that said, just don't expect him to be the cure-all defensively

for the Steelers, especially against the run. So far this season, the Steelers are

one of the worst run defenses in football

allowing more than 137 yards per game on the ground good for sixth worst in the

NFL. Teams are gashing the Steelers week after week.

Even with guys like Montrevious Adams, Larry Ogan Jovi,

Cole Holcomb,

Elanden Roberts, and Kwan Alexander playing well against the run on the interior.
