Welcome to the terrible take, a daily segment telling Steelers nation what's on our mind.

0:05.6

I'm Alex Kazora.

0:07.7

For the second straight Monday, I'm going to focus today's take on something other than yesterday's game against the Houston

0:15.6

Texans because there's an urgent issue we got to discuss. The NFL has cracked down hard on what they deem to be lowering of the helmet and making contact with an opposing player's head.

0:29.0

Not just on quarterbacks, not just on defenseless players which is all well and good but in virtually

0:35.1

any situation offense defense special teams. The vast majority of the NFL's

0:40.8

1:30.5

Warren and Alexander's fines amount to basically two games worth of their salary, probably three if you factor in the taxes that could taken out of their game checks.

1:40.0

The NFL does have an appeal process to lower fines that make up too much of a player's salary,

1:45.8

but that's all after the fact and still can take up to half of what a player makes,

1:50.1

that just seems to be too much.

1:52.1

Instead of set fine amounts, which is the way it goes right now,

1:56.0

there should be a sliding scale with the current fine set as the max

2:00.0

so PiPay players aren't losing six figures when they get tagged.
