A few weeks ago on this very platform here on the Terrible Take, wherever you may be listening to this at.

I stated that the player I was most looking forward to seeing in training camp entering

his second season for the Steelers was tight and Connor Hayward. I wanted to see how he hit the ground running in

his second lap around the track like head coach Mike Tomlin likes to say. So far

the returns are very promising with Hayward.

Through the first four practices of training camp, Hayward has been rather impressive overall offensively.

He's shown great hands once again, becoming that steady security blanket for

Steelers' quarterbacks at the tight end position, something they currently have with veteran

Pat Friarmuth, and have had historically at the position with names

like Heath Miller, and yes Jesse James in years past.

Hayward has made some great catches early on in camp, and that display of hands has carried over from the close to his rookie season.

His hands are drawing attention from teammates, coaches, and media members so far in training camp.

While there remains questions about his fit and usage overall offensively with the Steelers,

just proving he can be consistent in showing off his hands is going to be key to him finding a role in the NFL.

Whatever that position may be.

And it's a skill that's clearly caught the attention of teammates and coaches.

He's a football player, playing and simple though. It doesn't matter where he lines up.

And he's showing that time and time again, especially when the ball is thrown his way.

He has great hands, is really settling into his own as an offensive weapon for the Steelers,

and looks like the next sound dependable past catching option at the position for the Steelers moving forward.
