Welcome to the terrible take a daily segment telling Steelers nation what's on our mind. I'm Alex Kazora.

Through the Pittsburgh Steelers first four days of camp, there is so much to talk about about but I want to return to the

cornerback group on Friday's take I talked about the slot corner battle one that

remains on going with a long list of options today we'll look at the outside guys and in particular

rookie Joey Porter Jr. It's been a nice start for him who looks like the guy

Pittsburgh drafted out of Penn State. What's been most impressive about him are two things. One, his work ethic, always one of the first onto the field and always spending time with coaches playing toss or getting on the jugs machine to work on his hands.

Two, he's been able to cover the whole field, the entire route tree. Go balls to Calvin Austin, slants

to big-bodied receiver. He's played it all well showing speed and enough fluidity

while not being overly grabby, though he's taken advantage of no refs being there to throw a flag

for being maybe a half- step too early on occasion.

It's just four days, the pads come on tomorrow, but it has been a well-rounded start for a guy

like Porter entering the NFL with a big chip on his shoulder after falling out of the first round and he's playing

like a guy who should have heard his name on day one.
