The Steelers made a sort of curious move Wednesday releasing Edrusher and Special Teamer

Jamir Jones.

It's not a move that's going to cause anyone to lose sleep over it except for, well, maybe him,

but one unexpected to happen this time of year. Jones had just signed his one-year exclusive

rights-free agent contract in February and less than two months later he shone the

door. Some have speculated this release has something to do with Bud Dupree who recently visited with the team making room so to speak

But this is not September Pittsburgh has a 90 man roster not 53 and there's plenty not

fill adding Dupree can be done no issue

same with the financial aspect Jones released not saving this team a dime.

You can put on your tin foil hat and say Jones wore Dupreeze number 48 and that's the reason

for the cut, but I think Jones would have been

fine changing his number if it meant keeping his job. So why release Jones?
