The worst rule in the NFL.

It's not targeting.

It's not the fumble out of the end zone touchback rule.

One I actually like.

It is the body weight roughing the passer call.

If I was commissioner for a day, it's the first change I would

look to make. No, it did not impact the Steelers and Sundays lost to the Chargers, but getting to

watch the rest of the NFL before the night game, I saw it in the Ravens Vikings contest.

Minnesota robbed of a sack on Lamar Jackson for the egregious act of

tackling a quarterback too hard. It's already hard enough to sack those guys. You can't go too

high, too low, or too late without getting flagged. The rules are as complex as the tax code.

The idea of a player having to contort his body just so to prevent

falling on a quarterback illegally is just downright silly. It's asking too much, especially in a

world of big, strong, and mobile passers galore. This is not a concussion risk. This is not a severe

knee injury risk. These hits are harder and more brutal, sure,

but that's football. Quarterbacks receive ample protection, which in general I'm not against.

But defenders need to have some way to sack a quarterback without fear of doing too good of a job

tackling someone, which is all the body weight call is, and that does not apply anywhere else.

By far, this is the most rage-inducing penalty the NFL has.
