The Pittsburgh Steelers put up another embarrassing primetime performance in their 25 to 10,

lost to the Los Angeles Chargers, and there's plenty of blame to go around.

Aaron Rogers is probably culprit number one, having arguably the worst game of his

entire 21 season career. But today I want to focus on the offensive line. After a rough start

to the season, allowing seven sacks over the first two games, the offensive line got its

act together, allowing just two sacks over the next

four games. A similar improvement happened in the run game, where they were initially only gaining

63 yards per game on the ground over the first three, and doubled that to 126 over the next three.

We really were seeing growth from the young

offensive line, and Mike Tomlin even pointed out that it's reasonable to expect that to

continue, given how young most of the players are in the group. Yet what's happened over the last

three games for the Steelers' offensive line? Nothing good. They've allowed three

sacks per game, a total of nine over the last three,

and that includes countless other pressures and quarterback hits taken for the 41-year-old Aaron Rogers.

And the running game has fallen off a cliff as well, failing to get over a hundred total rushing yards as a team in each of the last three games, the last two

games in particular, combined for just 111 yards. That is horrible and one of the big reasons why

Pittsburgh offense has not been able to do much. Again, there's blame to go around. Aaron

Rogers has drifted into some sacks or stepped up into some sacks, but the offensive line has really taken a turn for the worse.

Broderick Jones in particular is a guy who many thought was starting to turn the corner at left tackle.

That has not been the case recently, and honestly, I think his improvements were a little bit overstated to begin with.
