telling Steelers Nation what's on our mind. I'm Alex Kizora. The preseason gives us plenty to

evaluate a player's athleticism, technique, even though special

teams value. But there's one aspect critically forgotten that coaches care a whole lot about

your conditioning. If your hands are on your hips and you're sucking wind by the first quarter,

it really doesn't matter how fast you run, how high you jump, or how good your hand use is. Your conditioning dictates how much you play and usually how well you play it. Three Steelers rookies have stood out in a positive way in that regard. Running back Caleb Johnson, Edge Jack Sawyer, and tight end JJ Galberth. Johnson has shouldered a heavy load all summer with

easily the most camp carries of any Steelers back. In-game, he's gotten plenty of burn and returned

kicks against the bucks. Sawyer, meanwhile, has worked an outside linebacker and played a bevious

snaps on special teams a dual role he hadn't held before. There's hardly been any time for him to

catch his breath. He and Galbraith are tied for the most snaps by any non-stealers' offense

alignment with 101 apiece. Galbraith came in as a summer sleeper and got off to a hot start

during the acclamation period. He's cooled off since, but can boast a high level of conditioning to play a ton of snaps

among thin lines at tight end.

That should be enough to play his way onto the practice squad.
