Entering the 2024 season there were a lot of questions about the state of the Steelers defensive line

Cameron Hayward was of course coming off an injury plagued season and at 35 years old many wondered

if he would return to form.

Larry Ogan Joby was largely failing to live up to his three-year extension given to him last

off season.

Kiano Benton is a young bright spot, but the depth behind them looked questionable with very little

investment in the group over the off season.

It is just a one-game sample size, but I think the defensive line group answered a lot of those questions in their week one win.

Larry Oganjobe was largely responsible for both of the interceptions that Kirk Cousins threw due to his interior pressure on both of those plays.

Cameron Hayward showed out with a solid performance that went beyond the box score.

Pro Football Focus gave him an 89.4 overall grade.

What a great sign that is after his recent extension.

Mon travius Adams chipped in with a sack, Keanu Benton and Marv and Leal also chipped in as well with some

pressures. The Falcon's offensive line is a pretty respected unit and

their offense was supposed to be a real strength with Kirk Cousins and Bijon

Robinson leading the way. The Steelers held them to 10 points and

cousins and Robinson's stat lines were both average at best.

Robinson had over 100 yards from scrimmage, but only a 3.8 average on the ground.

I think this unit opened a lot of eyes and calmed a lot of fears in week one.

That will obviously need to continue and injury concerns still remain with an older group overall,

but dang, was that an exciting development for the team?
