a daily segment telling Steelers nation what's on our mind.

Over the last seven seasons, the Steelers have been on a nearly linear trend downwards

in their sack productivity from the inside linebacker position.

Yet is ideal if a four-man rush can get home consistently and you don't need to send

an inside linebacker to secure a sack, but a well-timed blitz on third down can change

the outcome of a drive. In 2017 the Steelers had 10

sacks from the inside linebacker position including 8 from Vince Williams alone. Since then it was 8 total in 2018,

6.5 in 2019, 7 in 2020, and then just 6 total sacks over the last three seasons combined from that position.

Last year, the Steelers blitzer inside linebacker is just 125 times which ranked 23rd in the league.

With Patrick Queen who was the fifth most sacks at the position since entering the league in 2020
