I'm Melanie Freelander. While this news isn't specific to the Steelers, it will

certainly register with most NFL players and fans. Shortly after 3 a.m. on Saturday

morning Vikings cornerback Kyrie Jackson and two of his high school friends and

teammates were killed in a car accident caused when another driver hit their car.

Jackson was selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft

and was preparing for his rookie season.

After a good showing at the Senior Bowl,

Jackson put together a solid workout at the NFL combine,

including a 4.5 second 40-yard dash.

Our own Alex Gazora chose him in the fourth round of version 2 of his mock draft.

There has been an outpouring of support for his friends, family, and teammates in the aftermath of this devastating loss.
