I'm Alex Kazora. How the Pittsburgh Steelers approach their running back situation

over the next year will be very telling for how still relatively new GM Omar

Khan operates. There's choices to be made. They've already declined Nagee Harris's

fifth year option but they could still ink him to a long-term deal this summer or next March.

What about Jaylin Warren? He won't get a new deal this summer and will certainly be tendered next year as a restricted free agent with a fine and solid

2024 campaign. But does he get a long-term deal at some point. Is this one or the other the team only willing to pay Harris or

Warren in a multi-year fashion? Would they be willing to sign both? Or what about neither?

The old school approach would suggest keeping both.

The new school one says turn the pile over

and find a new running back instead of paying an old one.

Pittsburgh's built an old school run heavy offense,

but also decline Harris's option, which has a new age feel.

Under Kevin Colbert, Pittsburgh definitely would have stayed old school.

Under Omar Khan, this one could go either way.

The next 12 months will tell us what Camp he and this team are in.
